Realizations
1. Don't chant for mystical power

7. Pride is one of the poisonous fangs of the serpent of false ego who always tells you to think you are great and that others are stupid. Until you don't know who you are, and are not self realized, you are simply a fool in ignorance. Therefore you must cut off the fangs of this snake of ego with this knowledge that you are nothing and everything you have is a gift - including your intelligence, abilities, and other powers.
8. You will meet those who will honor you, and those who will insult you. Expect it.
9. Develop the ability to tolerate insult and be able to forgive with a peaceful mind. Forgive before the offence is over. This is the only way to defang the serpent of false ego.
10. Satisfying and pleasing the spiritual master is the key to all success
11. Krishna accepts service through the spiritual master and the disciplic succession. Not directly.
12. I must learn how to chant in the mood of desperation, otherwise my chanting will be offensive.

19. Your eagerness for japa is the measure of your progress.

22. Don't ever consider yourself an advanced devotee.

24. Stop considering yourself this body, reject thoughts of comfort and thoughts of proving yourself to others.
25. Lust and anger will come as urges - they never go away. One simply must ignore them.
26. Develop the right mood before chanting otherwise you will fall asleep.
27. Exemplary sadhana means always chanting. Constantly engaged the whole day in Krishna Consciousness.
28. The Holy Name is your only connection to guru and Krishna, so chant very carefully and beg for shelter.
29. When you chant offenselessly, the Holy Name surrounds you and Yoga Maya gives you shelter. But when you forget Krishna, the protection is lost.
30. Be conscious in each activity - Krishna Consciousness - needs awareness. Don't do things mechanically and absent-mindedly. Serve with attention, deal with devotees with attention, chant with attention.
31. The mind must become a devotee. Don't encourage it.
32. Take shelter of The Holy Names of Krishna, take shelter of the nine processes of devotional service. These things are there to take shelter of. Do not delay.
33. One who is responsible and thus a recipient of mercy is always busy with seva, The more seva you have and the more busy with seva you are indicates that you have more mercy.
34. Try to remain aware of the underlying reality of things. try to remember that Vishnu is everywhere and in everything, action, and event. Time itself is an illusion created by thousands of yakshas marching on to their death - just as the illusions created for Dhruva by the yakshas - we are also subjected to illusions such as I am this body, this house is mine, this money, these relatives, these friends are mine. We have to see everything in relation to Krishna, otherwise we see untruth.
35. Due to having a material mind, when we come across Krishna Consciousness, the philosophy will certainly create doubts. But we have to approach a spiritual master with the doubts instead of speculating that "it may be like this." That is dangerous. Don't allow the doubt to go on. It's very very dangerous.
36. If you chant mechanically, nothing will happen. To get mercy you must chant crying from the heart, crying for Krishna to accept you and engage you in His service. Ayi Nanda tanuja kinkara...
37. One has to pursue spiritual goals with a burning desire to achieve them. One must realize how his current situation is of a person trapped under earthquake rubble, or one walking in a pitch dark jungle unable to see anything. Or one drowned and unconscious under water, waiting to be rescued.
38. Following vratas with love is also a way to attract Krishna's mercy.
39. Are you taking shelter of anything other than bonafide scriptures, guru, sadhu, and Krishna? Don't take shelter of your wealth, reputation, friends, society, family, etc. They will all disappoint you. Maya will certainly pull away all your crutches. You will get only dishonor and disrespect, not anything else. This is how you can be purified, and your intention is tested.
40. The chastisement of the guru is his compassion and mercy to correct you, make you humble. He chastises out of love. This is the greatest mercy, being chastised by Vaishnava. One should become happy upon being chastised - as this means we have been accepted as family, as one of the dear ones.
41. Establish a relationship with Hari Nama, call to Him and beg to be engaged in His service. Become a servant of the Holy Name by spreading it around. Cleanse your heart of impure material desires for sense pleasure, mental speculation, and mystical powers by chanting and hearing the Name and glories of Krishna.
42. Establish proper relationships with others. Learn how to behave with others. Be tolerant toward those who are envious. Be merciful to those who are ignorant and innocent. Be friends with those who are as advanced as you, and treat all living entities as spirit soul. This is the key to pleasing Krishna on the Madhyama Adhikari level. 4.11.13-14
43. Mechanical chanting is not as powerful as chanting of the holy name without offenses.
44. Lord Nityananda, can, by His causeless mercy, remove ALL the anarthas of a sincerely chanting devotee within a few days. One cannot give up these anarthas simply by one's own effort.
45. Thoughts are empowered by emotions. Emotionless thoughts are empty and do not help one become absorbed during meditation.
46. A person who is more advanced can guide you and this is imperative for progress.
47. When you chant alone, you are likely to make it mechanical. Chant with devotees, and those who chant feelingly will especially help you stop chanting mechanically.
